WiMAX RF Design
EWL designs WiMAX RF modules to interface various PHY solutions based on 802.16e Mobile WiMAX standard for Base station and CPE in the 2.3 - 2.5GHz, 2.5 - 2.7GHz and 3.4 - 3.8GHz bands.

The transceiver operates in both Time Division Duplexing /High Frequency Division Duplexing mode with either IF or IQ interface from the baseband. We incorporate Direct conversion and Super Hetrodyne architecture in RF module design to achieve excellent EVM. We custom-engineer radio transceiver design to the band of operation, channel bandwidth, transmit power, receive sensitivity and power consumption etc.

The RF module for Base station is available with 1W and 5W output while CPE is available with 250mW or 500mW option. The performance of the Radio module can be enhanced with dynamic transmit power control, PA power down mode, or Receive AGC circuit.

EWL’s existing Radio module designs are compatible with WiMAX PHY of Picochip, Runcom & Sequans.
